Will High Gasoline Prices Mean Unskilled Americans Can’t Afford to Live far from Jobs?

Will this make the prices of houses fall even more where people have to commute a long distance?

Will Americans be forced to move into small areas where jobs are and to have small houses/apartments like people do in China?

Democrats will have to walk to get their welfare check is all that it means. Unskilled Americans don’t exist, that is why we have unskilled illegal alliens here, "to do the jobs that Americans won’t do." according to the democrats. Same ones getting Welfare.

  1. This will be the case for many people if the trend in gas prices continues.
Other people will find alternatives. Public transportation will be forced to expand.

  2. yes, this is already happening. My mom had to quit her 10.50 hr job to find a lower paying position closer to her house. She was driving 40 mi. roundtrip everyday in her honda civic and finally couldnt afford the gas anymore. I feel bad for all of us, I dont know how our economy is going to recover from such high prices. Even if we ended the war, I really dont believe that gas will go down much less than $3 per gallon. It sucks.

  4. Well, you have to look to the big picture, the exchange rate for US$ now is decreased compared to EURO, and other currencies, therefore activating more trade and economy is rising, so from one side, the GAS prices are rising, but on the other hand, the economy is getting stronger, and more work opportunities are being generated, so personally I think the answer is no, and as the prices of houses continue to drop down, American people will be looking for alternatives, like using economy cars, hybrids, and car pooling.
